THE ARMADA

The Armada consisted of 19 Ships-of-the-line, 13 Frigates, 6 Corvettes/Luggers, 9
Transports. Carrying 15,000 troops and with 15,000 seamen to crew the 47 ships, the Armada
also carried arms and ammunition for use by the united Irish men and their supporters.
