people in Kildorrery, Cork. Since that is where my Gallaghers
come from, I am interested in e-mailing John, but the address

John, if you read this message, can you contact me at

Hi there,
I was searching your site for information on restaurants in
Midleton. You don't have any listed. I find this very unusual.
You seem to cater greatly for West Cork, and not at all for
East Cork and North Cork - with the exception of Ballycotton!
Can you do something to rectify this? Perhaps if you
advertise in local papers, like the Imokilly People or the
Avondhu for interested restaurants, B&B's or Hotels, you
may be able to get more information to put up on your web
site.
Otherwise, I find this a very useful site.
I also used your link to Aer Rianta at Cork Airport. It's a
great link. We are going to Paris on holidays in September. I
found the info useful.
Best of luck with your site & continue the
improvements,

Lots of information but I couldn't find help with a route
plan for visiting Southern Ireland. I really wanted help in
the planning of a scenic driving tour. Visitors need to know
where they are going before they can book the accommodation. A
site showing alternative driving routes and what each offered
would be really helpful. If there is one out there please can
you let me know.

Hoping to contact Carmel Motherway again. Carmel I have
lost the e mail you sent me with the details of your hotel and
your website! Silly me... also had a chat with my mother
Carmel Tobin who has filled me in on some details regarding
the things I e mailed to you previously....
Here goes....Redbarn, her old family home is near the rifle
range inbetween Pilmore and Clay Castle.. and her family
consists of Tobins (my uncle Kieran Tobin owns Douglas Carpet
Centre in Cork). The Tobins came from Tipperary and their
family home was called Rehill. Other branches of the family
include the Lantrys (my grandmother's family).. her name was
Lilly Lantry and her sister still lives in Youghal - Maureen
Lantry Keneally. Tom Lantry is a vet in Youghal also.
My mother rememebers the name Motherway so I am thinking
you might know some of the people above....
Apparently Redbarn is being renovated but we are still not
sure what purpose it will serve. Everyone seems to think it
might be a b and b.. but who knows.
My fiancee and I are hoping to visit Youghal sometime next
year for a holiday as he has never been to Ireland. Does not
know what he is missing yet!
Kind regards Anne-Marie Ashdown

This is helpful but it seems to vary between those who give
rates and those who don't. Two couples one from France and one
from Scotland want to book self-catering for a Friday and
Saturday night August 16? weekend. We want to be at the sea. A
site that allowed dates and criteria as above to be searched
for would be good. Frankly most visitors to your site won't
know Baltimore from Kinsale but either might mee their needs.

Thsi is the reply sent to the Paul who left the comments
below.
Hi Paul
You appear to have got it all wrong
First of all the accommodation is graded by Board Failte
the Irish tourist board
As you can see from this email we do reply
And finally we have 12 hotels listed for Cork City of which
3 have websites
www.cork-guide.ie/cork4p0.htm
We are not a charity We do have overheads And of course
clients pay for the web space
After all can you say the same about the Sunday Time, if
they have only 6 hotels listed in their newspaper
We here in Ireland do not jump to the conclusion that there
are only 6 hotels in England.
That would be rather foolish

Please be very wary of this site which lists various
accommodation. places to eat and entertainment without any
apparent grading criterion. Why do they do this? Presumably
those listed pay them?

I think the Cork-Guide is very useful. I used it to find
out lots of information on tourist attractions and the history
of the Cork area before my trip over at the end of January. I
had a fantastic time staying with friends in Douglas. I am
hoping to visit again very soon. Keep up the good work!

What a wonderful site! I was hoping to find some
information on my mother's old home in Youghal County Cork. It
was a house called Redbarn near a house called Rehill near the
Strand. Built by her ancestors it is now apparently a bed and
breakfast or was intended to become one.. Would anyone know
any details of it or where I might find information. I would
love to stay there with my fiancee on our trip to Ireland. My
mothers maiden name was Tobin (her first name Carmel) and her
father was called Kieran Patrick Tobin brother of Ned Tobin
who was quite a sporting identity over that way. If no one can
help me I am sure I can just ask my relatives but it would be
nice to hear from someone else who might know what has
happened to Redbarn in the last few years.
Cheers Anne-Marie Ashdown (please feel free to e mail
me)

I love Ireland, esp. Cork. That's the reason, why I'd like
to do my practical training of the school for economy and
foreign languages in that wonderful city. Can somebody of you
give me an advice, where I can get an address for that from??
I would like to do it directly in Cork but from Germany it's
very difficult to get addresses of firms and hostels, where I
can live for 6 weeks. Please help me, I count on you!!!
