My husband's family emigrated from Ringaskiddy to Canada in
the middle 1850's. We are traveling to Ireland in October and
hope to visit Ringaskiddy. Is it possible to get some
information about the town before October?

i have been to Ireland many times as i have relative who
live in fermoy co.cork. For all you fishers out there this
will be your paradise. The weather is a bit like the UK. The
Irish people are very warm and friendly and can't do enough to
help you. The food and drink is excellent. The standard of
living is about the same as in the uk and a loaf of bread will
cost about 65p=1 euro but this depends where about you are
staying. happy hoildays for all you first timers im sure it
wont be the last.

Just recently my wife(a Cleary)and I(a Keating)have been
visiting our roots in Ireland and went to Cobh to see the
Queenstown Story.Good luck to the people of Cobh, who are just
as friendly now,as when my brother stayed there for 7 months
in 1947 aboard an RFA vessel doing mine clearance in Bantry
bay.He has many fond memories of the time,as we have of our
short visit.

what I'm looking for. Would you be able to tell me when/where
Blotooth is playing in Cork. I know it's before the 9th of
June, but I can't find it anywhere, not even on their site...
Cheers.

Just wanted to say that I like your site. I'm hoping that
someday I'll be able to move to Ireland. I have a house picked
out and everything. I guess I'll have to see how things go. My
mother is going to visit Ireland next month. I don't know when
I can visit. I'm hoping that I can soon. I'm in love with your
country and have been for years. It's ideals have engulfed me.
I'm suppose to have ancestors from there, but it seems that
all of our information was lost. I'm hoping to trace my family
history. Once again, I like your site. It's informative.

I'm interested in having my wedding in Gougane Barra.
Regarding the reception I need to locate somewhere where I can
have about 60 people. Small reception, nothing fancy. I'm
Irish and most of my family are rish speaking from Dingle. My
fiance is Scottish and we are looking for an informal,
pub-like atmosphere where we can have trad music and a good
session. Please advise who to contact. Most important is the
contact information for the church in Gougane Barra. Thank you
for your help. Great site.
