Dear All,

My Great grandmother came from Cork. Her family name was Toughig or possibly Twoghig, her first name was Ellen. Her father apparently had a large pub or possibly a brewery. Does anybody have details of this family or remember a Toughig's Pub. Perhaps there exist trade directories for Cork in the 1880's/90's which would give owners of such establishments ???? Thanks. My Christian name is "Barry",which was my mother's surname, so I believe that her side of the family had roots in famous Cork County. Do all people with Irish background and surname Barry have ties to County Cork? hank you for your consideration to my query and I hope to see the county in question before too long in the flesh! I live now in sunny California, where the spring rains make the hills green, almost, but not quite as green as the beautiful island of Eire itself.

Looking for any descendants of William Richards and Isabella Power family. William and Isabella were married in 1789 Church of Ireland and immigrated to Newfoundland in 1802/3. When family was in Newfoundland they followed the Catholic faith. I guess this is like looking for a needle in a haystack but I always keep trying.

Looking for Coughlins, Callaghans and Nugent families still living in County Cork to exchange pen pal. My gg grandmother was Ellen Callaghan daughter of Dennis Callaghan and Mary Nugent. Their marriage took place in 1838 Bunratty, Cork. Ellen was born 1839 and immigrated to America in 1857 where she met and married Michael Coughlin also from County Cork. Dont know where in Cork he comes from

Nicely-constructed site. Would like to get more specific listings re: names, phone numbers, etc of more restaurants in West Cork in order to make advance reservations before our trip. For instance, The Rectory in Glandore isn't to be found....would rather get number off your site than have to call telephone information. Thanks!

Are there any plans for another Millstreet Music Fair? Although as there is a horse show there in mid-August it may seem likely, I would very much lke to know. If anyone knows, an email would be appreciated. Alternatively you could leave a message on my guestbook. My homepage is <a href="http://bands.freepage.de/eire">
