CommentsDear All, My Great grandmother came from Cork. Her family name was Toughig or possibly Twoghig, her first name was Ellen. Her father apparently had a large pub or possibly a brewery. Does anybody have details of this family or remember a Toughig's Pub. Perhaps there exist trade directories for Cork in the 1880's/90's which would give owners of such establishments ???? Thanks. CommentsI spent last summer in a wonderful little village in West Cork called Rosscarbery. There were really neat things to do , its alot different then America. We really enjoyed pedaling boating in the lagoon, the workers were really friendly. hope to return next year.

CommentsAfter my moms Grandmother and Grandfather died, her mom and 3brothers and sister were raised my an Aunt Tattie or Taddy. Does anyone know if this is a nickname of another name that I am not aware of, it might help me in my family tree research. Also, if you don't have a birthdate, marriage date, is it hopeless to try to find a birth record, or marriage record over in Ireland? I,m not even sure what county my relatives where from. CommentsLooking for any descendants of William Richards and Isabella Power family. William and Isabella were married in 1789 Church of Ireland and immigrated to Newfoundland in 1802/3. When family was in Newfoundland they followed the Catholic faith. I guess this is like looking for a needle in a haystack but I always keep trying.

Their marriage took place in 1838 Bunratty, Cork. Ellen was born 1839 and immigrated to America in 1857 where she met and married Michael Coughlin also from County Cork.
