CommentsMy daughter and I are coming to Irealand June 22-June28,1999. My husband's relatives descend from John and Mary Parret Good who once owned Barry's Hall. John passed away in 1848 Mary and family left Ireland May 3, 1849 and eventually settled in Davis County Bloomfield, Iowa USA. John Good is my husband's great great great Grandfather. WE understand Barry"s Hall is now owned by Aurthur and Peggy O'Leary. WE have found out that his father purchased it from Nan Good in 1922 after her husband was killed. We are wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any Good's left that are related this family. Do you know what Nan Good's husband's name was? Thank you Patricia Good

CommentsHi. Just thought I would say Hi. I was to Ireland when I was 9 years old. That was in 1976. I had a great time, and yes I kissed the Blarney Stone. I was scared to hang down to kiss it, but my Grandmother wouldn't let anyone drop me, so I did it. There were very big cows down below. The country side was beautiful and anyone who travels there will agree. If I can ever get the money together I would like to take my kids there someday. Thanks for your time. Tonya Duncan from Arthur, Ontario, Canada

Commentsi love this, my whole family is orriginaly form Cork, Co.
CommentsThis is a good websit. I hope it can be of some help to me. My Great Grandparents came from Cork co. (We think). Michael Gooley married Catherine Mary Fitzgerald in the early 1870's (most likely) and they had five children. Two were probably born In Ireland; Martin and Patrick. Martin married Ellen Noonan probably before coming to the USA. I am not sure exactly when the family came over. I start seeing their names show up in city directories around the late 1870's. If anyone can help me find out any information about my ancestors I would really appreciate it. Thank you Jane

CommentsI am of Irish descent. I am looking for anyone that can lead me to my long lost relatives in Ireland. The names I have are Michael Gooley who married Catherine Mary Fitzgerald in the mid 1800's. They came over from Cork Co. or else from the Waterford area (I have been told) in the mid to late 1870's. Then ended up in Chicago and lived there for 12 years before they died in 1887. They had five children: Martin, Patrick,(I believe were born in Ireland) Alice, Mary and James who were born in Chicago. Their parents died while the three youngest were still quite young. An Aunt Taddy or Taddie came over from Ireland to finish raising them. My mother thought that this Aunt was from her Grandmothers side of the family. But not sure. Martin married Ellen Noonan and they both are from Ireland. Martin (the oldest son). I don't have good birth or marriage records so I am at a loss as to what to do next. Hopefully I'll get some information this way. Thank you JR
