Hi people! I spent a year in UCC (98/99) and I LOVED Cork!
I had a lovely time! This site is quite helpful, but the only
way to get to know the spirit of Cork is to move there!

Cork is a very nice city - nice shops and all that, but its
nothin' compared to the dizzy heights of Belfast. As a man
from Belfast who knows a lot (well, a few) people at UCC I am
in Cork quite a bit. But once agagin, Belfast is better - so
there.

While in Cork/Kinsale in the summer of 1998, my fiance' and
I heard an excellent duo, which included Don Murphy. We
purchased an outstanding CD from him which was recorded at
Sound Masters Studios in Cork. Now, my husband and I would
like to contact either Don Murphy or his studio in order to
purchase other CD's by him. Please e-mail me if you can help.

Hi Bantry Bay folk: I visited Bantry Bay in 1972 with my
dad (Joseph Maguire). His mother was born in Bantry Bay, Ellen
O'Sulllivan and married Patrick Maguire and settled in a small
town near Quebec city. I enjoyed my visit to Ireland very much
and would like to contact some of the people we visited,
Finbar O'Sullivan in Bantry Bay and Anthony O'Sullivan in Cork
City. Anyone with any info please contact me, I am very
interested in establishing contact with my father's ancesters.
I can still remember how beautiful it was in Bantry Bay.
Waiting to hear from anyone knowing of any whereabouts of
these people, can be reached at mary.maguire@mailcity.com Mary

I visited the site to try to locate a store I visited on a
trip to Cork two years ago. The store was called The Treasure
Chest or similar, where I bought some Waterford. Unfortunately
I was unable to locate the store or anything even along that
line in the shopping guide of the site. Perhaps some kind
person may be able to offer me some assistance.

I'm looking for bed and breakfast accommodation within
walking distance of Castletownshend for the New Year holiday -
I can't find anything listed on your site that fits the bill
and there isn't a number for a tourist office in Skibbereen or
wherever that I can call to find out more. I have heard from a
friend that there is a B&B just outside the village called
"Woodlands" but directory enquiries doesn't appear to have the
number. Can you help???

My family came from Cork County. Our Murphy family reunions
are every July in Murphy Georgia U.S.A. (actually right next
door in Moultrie, Georgia) We are at a loss. We can trace just
so far back and POOFF! no tracks. Our family came from Murphy
North Carolina and settled in Georgia. How and when and who
they were from Ireland has been bugging us all. We are a very
happy, friendly family. Most of us are farmers and business
owners. . which I find very unusual. I have some history, but
would like to know how, for free, on the web to help trace our
"ROOTS".
