The best way to explore Kinsale is by foot, parking can be difficult as it is a town of small winding streets which are not designed for today's traffic. Fota Wildlife park a lovely day out from here within an hours drive via the river crossing.

Include the Railway village on a drive around the beautiful west cork area, including Bantry, Glengarrif, Schull and all the little villages and towns. Killarney is only less than a two hour drive from Kinsale, If you would like to include the Ring of Kerry we can organize a bus from Killarney town to take you around the ring so that the driver can relax and also see the sites of this white knuckle ride. There are examples of medieval, 16th and 17th century architecture in the form of Saint Maltrose Church, Desmond Castle and James and Charles Forts.

With its wide range of activities on site, The Oysterhaven Centre is an ideal family holiday destination and the perfect base for exploring West Cork.

Each of our 3 bed roomed cottages is built in a traditional style on a sheltered and elevated site with views of Oysterhaven Bay. Each cottage is designed with an open plan lounge with open fire, dining area and fitted kitchen and comes equipped with TV, microwave oven, washing machine and dryer. Each cottage has a patio and barbecue area, with sun lounger, table and chairs, and residents also have use of the large lawn in front of the cottages. Residents are also welcome to use our tennis course free of charge, subject to availability. Enjoy some watersports at the activity centre in the sheltered creeks which provides a haven for windsurfing and dinghy sailing, and the spectacular rugged coastline is ideal for sea kayaking adventures.

Local musicians regularly provide a lively nights entertainment and travelling musicians are always welcome to join in. On the patio you can sip your beer and enjoy the view of the Horizon by day or the moon beam across the bay by night.
