Cork Cinema is a great night out and can be found at the Cinemax, The Quay, Bantry, Co. Cork, The Gate Cinemas in Douglas and North Main Street, Mallow and Midleton and the Omniplex at Mahon Shopping Centre in Co Cork.

Theatre in Cork is a treat whether it is Ballet at Christmas In Cork Opera House, or a pantomime at the Everyman Theatre it makes for a great nights entertainment in Cork City. Live music sessions and much more can be seen at The Half Moon Theatre, enjoy a visit also to Cork Arts Theatre in Cork City. The Glen Theatre in Banteer a community development. Theatre by the Lake can be enjoyed at Gougane Barra Hotel which often plays host to a number of theatrical performances. Rossmore a town between Clonakility and Dunmanway offers St Marys Theatre Rossmore which hosts a number of live shows, concerts, plays and musicals.

Festivals

Cork Festivals range from the Cork International Choral Festival, Cork Folk Festival, Cork Jazz Festival to West Cork Rally Festival and Ballydehob Jazz Festival. Also to be enjoyed are Skibbereen Arts Festival and West Cork Chamber Music Festival. Cobh People's Regatta offers a maritime flavour during the Summer and for the fitness enthusiast there is Cork City Marathon. The beautiful town of Kinsale has the Kinsale Fringe Jazz Festival along with the Kinsale Gourmet Festival. Buttevent hosts it annual Cahirmee Horse Fair in Buttevent and Rosscarbery also has a Horse Fair in August. Maureen O'Hara Classic Film Festival Beara Peninsula takes place in June. Baltimore Wooden Boat Building Festival is held May. The Dragon of Shandon Halloween Dragon Lantern Parade Cork is held in October under Shandon Bells, Cork City. The Wren Boys Carnaval held in Carrigaline Main street on St Stephen's Day in December. Nearly every town in Cork has some festival or other to entertain the visitor during the Summer months.

Other pubs of interest are Canty's, Counihan's, Clancy's and the Rob Roy and the Ovens Tavern and An Spailpin Fanach, The Old Oak, Jim Cashmans and Larry Tompkins , Dan Lowrey's and the Flying Enterprise. New pubs in Cork City are The Oliver Plunkett, The Electric, the Woodford, the Roundy House, The Bodega. Coppingers in Midleton, The Session in Ballydehob, Cronin's Pub in Crosshaven, De Barra's of Clonakilty and An Teach Beag of Clonakilty along with the pub in O'Donovans Hotel steeped in history and character. Hackets Bar and The Black Sheep Bar in Schull, The Bulman, The Speckled Door, The Spaniard in Kinsale, Mary Anne' Bar Castletownsend, Auntie Mae's in Mitchelstown, Connolly's of Leap, Bob's Bar in Kanturk to name but a few.

Restaurants in Cork are plentiful so enjoy the experience. West Cork has many fine restaurants just starting in Kinsale it is too hard to pick one in particular just a sample would include Spinnaker Restaurant, Man Fridays, Captains Table Restaurant in Actons Hotel, Fishy Fishy Cafe. Island Cottage Restaurant in Skibbereen, An Sugan in Clonakility, The Herons Cove Restaurant in Goleen, Seaview House Hotel Restaurant in Ballylickey. The Snug in Bantry offers wholesome food at reasonable prices. Good Things Cafe in Durrus, Glandore Inn with its wonderful view.

East Cork offers restaurants such as Finins of Midleton, and the Farmgate (also located in the English Market upstairs) Youghal is well know for Aherne's Seafood Restaurant, Ballymaloe House Restaurant in Shanagarry. Fota Island Resort and Castlemartyr Resorts both have very good restaurants for the tourist to experience. Cronins Pub in Crosshaven offers good food and a chance to soak up the craic in the pub. The Bosun in Monkstown, O'Callaghan's Cafe in Mitchelstown with its wonderful homemade breads and jams and lots more.

The Mills Inn in Ballyvourney, Macroom, established in 1755 a wonderful stop off point. Cork City restaurants include Augustines in the Clarion Hotel. Wagamama noodle bar offers a taste of the Orient. The Cornstore Restaurant located in Cork's famous Coal Quay area of the city. Greenes Restaurant on McCurtain Street and Market Lane on Oliver Plunkett Street, just some of the many restaurants to be found in the city centre of Cork.

Nightclubs & Late Night Bars

Cork night club spots include Reardens on Washington Street and Cubins and James Street and the Bodega. The Pavilion located in the Huguenot Quarter, off Patrick Street in Cork city. The Oliver Plunkett (previously Scotts) and Soho are late night bars. Cyprus Avenue good venue for Live Bands as is The Savoy. The Quay Bar and Nightclub in Youghal. Chasers Nightclub in Skibbereen is funky, modern setting for this West Cork night club offering popular music. The Venue Nightclub in O'Donovan Hotel in Clonakilty. O'Riada's in Macroom and The Briery Gap, SG1 in Fermoy and Safari's in Newmarket and Club Paradise in Casey's Ballincollig.
