Cork and its surrounding areas have played host to the Film Industry for a number of movies such as Moby Dick starring Gregory Peck, The Wind That Shakes The Barley starring Cillian Murphy, War of the Buttons, Ondine with Colin Farrell filmed off Castletownbere, and filming of Divine Rapture with the late Marlon Brandon started in Ballycotton but unfortunately due to bankruptcy the film did not get complete.

Cork City shopping where the English Market is a long standing tradition for shopping since 1788 and has everything under one roof from butchers, fishmongers and smoked salmon suppliers to speciality chocolate suppliers and olive sellers.
