Situated in Cork City Centre just off Douglas Street and close to Nano Nagle Place sits the 14th-century Augustinian Red Abbey
The central bell tower of the church of Red Abbey is approximately 20 metre high is a relic of the Anglo Norman colonisation of Cork
A National Monument, it is one of the last visible structures which date back to the era of the walled town of Cork.
The remianing tower cannot be climbed but its Gothic architecture can stil be seen on the lower arch of the structure and also in the upper windows.
